We believe that part of caring for someone’s dental needs also means providing care for their entire family. Morrison Dental Group is a family dental practice where everyone can come to get their needs met, from the youngest baby to the eldest grandparent. Over the years, we have seen children grow to adults, and then bring in their own children for pediatric dentistry. Being able to treat generations of families really means a lot to our doctors and team! We also do our best to accommodate families all at once so you can get all of your family’s dental needs met at one time.
Why Children’s Dentistry is Important
We believe that it is important for children to grow up knowing what to expect from a dental office visit. By starting pediatric dentistry early, kids are able to feel comfortable with the dentist and establish good habits early on. When the same providers who treat mom and dad, treat kids as well, it helps build a sense of trust. And with routine care, we can ensure your little one is developing well and has no oral complications as they grow.

The American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend that the first dental visit should occur within six months after the baby’s first tooth appears, but no later than the child’s first birthday.
You should start flossing your child’s teeth as soon as two teeth, that touch, emerge.
Encourage and assist with routine brushing and flossing habits at home. Don’t forget to also schedule regular six month visits to our office for checkups! Once a child turns 6, we recommend they begin to rinse regularly with a fluoride mouthwash.
A child should be weaned off of a pacifier between the ages of 6 and 12 months to prevent damage to any teeth coming in.
We recommend bringing your child with you to your dental appointments as early as possible. The more they come in with you and see that the dentist isn’t scary, the more likely they’ll be comfortable coming in for their own appointments.
Schedule a meet-and-greet with our friendly doctor and team today to show your child that Morrison Dental Group is a safe and comfortable place to be!
