Dr. Robert F. Morrison
CEO and Clinical Director
Dr. Morrison founded the practice after returning from being stationed with the U.S. Navy in England with the goal of providing genuine and compassionate care for the families of Williamsburg and the greater Hampton-Roads area.
The practice has grown to incorporate some of the latest dental technologies as well as continue to provide extensive and patient-oriented care for families and individuals. With a great team of Williamsburg dentists and staff, the offices of Morrison Dental Group pride themselves on the personal attention and skill that they can offer their patients. Dr. Morrison graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in 1979. He attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 1982, completing a post-doctoral residency in Comprehensive Dentistry. He served as a dental officer ashore and afloat from 1982-1991 in the U.S. Navy and was the dentistry department head afloat the U.S.S. Guam. Dr. Morrison was head of the Pediatric Department from 1987-1988, Dental Clinic, Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia.
Dr. Morrison is married to Alison, who serves as Morrison Dental Group’s CFO. They have two sons: Frank, a LCDR in the United States Coast Guard and Alex, who also works with Morrison Dental Group as the Chief Compliance Officer. In his spare time, Dr. Morrison is a dedicated family man and enjoys fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, as well as kayaking and restoring British MG cars.
Dr. Morrison is a member of the ADA, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, The VDA, the PDA, and the International College of Dentistry.
Dr. Hiba Alata
Dr. Alata is drawn to dentistry for its unique blend of science and art, Dr. Hiba Alata finds great satisfaction in helping patients achieve healthy smiles while working with her hands.
Her passion for healthcare was solidified after shadowing various professionals and discovering dentistry's immediate impact on a patient's well-being. She values the personal interactions with her patients, learning about their diverse backgrounds, and helping them gain confidence and relief from pain.
After attending the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies, Dr. Alata earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is a proud member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry and is certified to provide Invisalign treatments.
Dr. Alata has a strong commitment to volunteer work, having participated in the Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic, Malta Dental Clinic, and Men's Health Event in Michigan, where she offered free cancer screenings, extractions, and dental care. Recently relocated to Virginia, she is looking forward to contributing to Smiles for Heroes.
Dr. Alata's husband, Omar Daweri, is also a dentist specializing in periodontics. Originally from Novi, Michigan, she describes herself as a diligent, adaptable, and empathetic individual, always eager to learn and take on new challenges.
In her spare time, Dr. Alata enjoys reading, painting, watching movies, bike riding, hiking with friends, and exploring new coffee shops. She also likes cozy gaming on her Nintendo Switch or playing PC games with friends. She can also play the ukulele and has some published poetry.
Dr. Gene Hong
Dr. Gene Hong is a distinguished dental professional with a passion for creating beautiful smiles and fostering a sense of community within his practice.
He began his academic journey at Syracuse University, where he studied biotechnology and graduated summa cum laude with a Founder’s Scholarship. His dedication to excellence continued at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated cum laude.
Born in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Dr. Hong spent 12 years in Korea due to his father’s Air Force career before moving to Suffolk, VA. His journey in dentistry began with a desire to build relaxed, collaborative relationships with his team and patients, and to be part of a community that values health and well-being.
Dr. Hong has a rich history of volunteer work, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community. He has participated in programs such as Give Kids A SmileⓇ, providing dental care to children in local elementary schools around Buffalo. He has also volunteered at the Special Olympics, offering free dental care, and with Remote Area Medical, traveling to underserved areas to provide much-needed dental services. Additionally, Dr. Hong has participated in the Teddy Bear Clinic, teaching children how to care for their teeth using a teddy bear model while also screening them for dental issues.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Hong is an energetic and positive individual who enjoys working out, reading fantasy novels, and playing video games. He is fluent in two languages and has a love for music, enjoying EDM, rap, and singing ballads and R&B.

Kayla Reynolds
Kayla joined the Morrison Dental Group team as an admin assistant in our Hampton office after previously working in the retail and hospitality industries. Her positive attitude and hard work quickly earned her the title of Office Coordinator for our Norge office. Her favorite part of dentistry is being able to change the way patients feel about coming to the dental office.
Kayla enjoys providing a safe and comforting experience so that nervous patients leave our office feeling confident that they have found their dental home. She is motivated each day by our awesome patients and the great providers we have in our office. When she’s not working, you can find Kayla spending her time with her son, niece, and nephew. They are her greatest motivations.
