Our Doctors
Dr. Robert F. Morrison
Clinical Director
Dr. Robert F. Morrison is the owner and founder of Morrison Dental Group, serving families since 1992. After completing his service with the U.S. Navy, he opened the practice with a mission to provide genuine and compassionate care for the families of the Hampton Roads region. Over the years, the practice has grown to incorporate advanced dental technologies while continuing to provide patient-focused care for individuals and families.
Dr. Morrison earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Southern Illinois University in 1979, followed by his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1982 from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. He completed a post-doctoral residency in Comprehensive Dentistry and went on to serve as a dental officer ashore and afloat from 1982–1991, including as department head aboard the U.S.S. Guam and head of the Pediatric Department at Norfolk Naval Station.
Dr. Morrison is married to Alison, who serves as Morrison Dental Group’s CFO. They have two sons: Frank, a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard, and Alex, who is the group’s Chief Compliance Officer. In his spare time, Dr. Morrison enjoys fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, kayaking, and restoring British MG cars. He is also a member of the ADA, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Virginia Dental Association, Peninsula Dental Society, and the International College of Dentistry.
Dr. Hiba Alata
Dr. Alata is drawn to dentistry for its unique blend of science and art, Dr. Hiba Alata finds great satisfaction in helping patients achieve healthy smiles while working with her hands.
Her passion for healthcare was solidified after shadowing various professionals and discovering dentistry’s immediate impact on a patient’s well-being. She values the personal interactions with her patients, learning about their diverse backgrounds, and helping them gain confidence and relief from pain.
After attending the University of Michigan for her undergraduate studies, Dr. Alata earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. She is a proud member of the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry and is certified to provide Invisalign treatments.
Dr. Alata has a strong commitment to volunteer work, having participated in the Mission of Mercy Free Dental Clinic, Malta Dental Clinic, and Men’s Health Event in Michigan, where she offered free cancer screenings, extractions, and dental care. Recently relocated to Virginia, she is looking forward to contributing to Smiles for Heroes.
Dr. Alata’s husband, Omar Daweri, is also a dentist specializing in periodontics. Originally from Novi, Michigan, she describes herself as a diligent, adaptable, and empathetic individual, always eager to learn and take on new challenges.
In her spare time, Dr. Alata enjoys reading, painting, watching movies, bike riding, hiking with friends, and exploring new coffee shops. She also likes cozy gaming on her Nintendo Switch or playing PC games with friends. She can also play the ukulele and has some published poetry.
Dr. Gene Hong
Dr. Gene Hong is a distinguished dental professional with a passion for creating beautiful smiles and fostering a sense of community within his practice.
He began his academic journey at Syracuse University, where he studied biotechnology and graduated summa cum laude with a Founder’s Scholarship. His dedication to excellence continued at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated cum laude.
Born in Menomonie, Wisconsin, Dr. Hong spent 12 years in Korea due to his father’s Air Force career before moving to Suffolk, VA. His journey in dentistry began with a desire to build relaxed, collaborative relationships with his team and patients, and to be part of a community that values health and well-being.
Dr. Hong has a rich history of volunteer work, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community. He has participated in programs such as Give Kids A SmileⓇ, providing dental care to children in local elementary schools around Buffalo. He has also volunteered at the Special Olympics, offering free dental care, and with Remote Area Medical, traveling to underserved areas to provide much-needed dental services. Additionally, Dr. Hong has participated in the Teddy Bear Clinic, teaching children how to care for their teeth using a teddy bear model while also screening them for dental issues.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Hong is an energetic and positive individual who enjoys working out, reading fantasy novels, and playing video games. He is fluent in two languages and has a love for music, enjoying EDM, rap, and singing ballads and R&B.
Dr. Randall Bittner
Dr. Randy Bittner grew up in the rural community of Somerset, Pennsylvania, where small-town values and a strong sense of community shaped his down-to- earth, personable approach to dentistry. He earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania before attending Temple University School of Dentistry.
Inspired by his own positive experiences with an orthodontist as a child, Dr. Bittner developed a passion for general dentistry and orthodontics, most especially in the way it can transform a patient’s confidence and smile.
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Bittner has a deep love for music. A talented bass guitarist, he toured Europe for a month in high school with the School Band and Chorus of America, plays locally with South Side Big Band, of which performs big band music throughout the area and occasionally on cruise ships docked in Norfolk. He has spent 26 years as a member of the Shriners, serving as the Director of the Khedive Shrine Center Band.
When he’s not transforming smiles or playing music, Dr. Bittner enjoys golfing purely for the fun of the game, traveling, and spending time with his beloved Pitbull mix, Snow. Known for his approachable and friendly demeanor, he prides himself on making patients feel comfortable. Dr. Bittner looks forward to serving the Hampton community with the same warmth, skill, and passion that have defined his career.

Office Coordinator
Growing up in a military family, Holly spent most of her time in the great state of Ohio as her dad was in the Navy for 22 years. Holly loves being a part of the dental field and worked previously in the medical field. Holly enjoys learning new things and being a part of such an amazing team. Holly’s husband, Erick, is in the US Navy. They have two kids, Harley and Autumn. Holly’s furry baby is named Nico. She has four grandsons, Fred, Henry, Zacharias, and Kieran, and it is the highlight of her life to be their Mimi.
